The Cedars-L’Acadie Intermediate Resource

The Cedars-L’Acadie Intermediate Resource offers services to the elderly of the Christian Middle Eastern community who have a moderate loss of autonomy, and home care assistance is no longer a safe option. The Intermediate Resource is a congregate living environment offering a home-type lifestyle. Several measures are put in place to ensure that the residents feel like they are at home.

The Intermediate Resource supplies the following basic services:
  • Recreational activities
  • Management of medication
  • Help with personal care (e.g. toilet, bath, hair washing)
  • Cleaning of clothing and bedding
  • Housekeeping
  • Meals and snacks
  • Basic care (e.g. mobility assistance, help when arising and going to sleep)
  • Supervision

Through a service agreement with le Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux du Nord-de-l’île-de-Montréal (CIUSSS NIM) and the private developer Groupe Immobilier Globale, the Cedars Home provides a part of the professional services, and specifically the nursing care and the psychosocial services.

How to apply to the IR?

When home care assistance for you or your loved one is no longer possible, our organization offers an alternative solution to the institutional type of living environment. In order to benefit from the services, an evaluation of the needs of the individual is made by a social worker of the CLSC in your area. Following the evaluation, a request is submitted to the admission service managed by the CIUSSS. You will then be directed towards the resource which best meets your needs according to your particular situation.
